
The Corporate Services Department provides support services to the
line function departments and manages the financial,
human resources and administrative activities of the Mpumalanga
Gambling Board.
Finance
The responsibilities assigned to Finance include:

The capturing, recording and processing of payments
of creditors, gambling levies and other income from licensees and the
payment of relevant funds to the Provincial Government.

Monitoring of the approved budget against performance
and preparation of the annual budget for approval.
- Co-ordinating the internal and external audit processes and preparing the Annual Financial Statements in liaison with the Auditor-General.

Complete and submit Tax Returns to the Receiver of Revenue and process payment to relevant authorities of all statutory and other deductions.

Control of the MGB assets.

Processing the payroll and payment of staff salaries.

Establishment and maintenance of internal controls.
Human Resources
HR is responsible for applying the laws governing employment practices and the regulations of the organisation, with the primary objectives being to:
- Recruit, retain and motivate employees by providing adequate benefits; establish and continuously evaluate and develop human resource policies and procedures aimed at informing employees of their rights and expected obligations, thereby creating a harmonious work environment within the MGB.
- Render Management support on personnel related issues and ensure that the Government’s policy on labour legislation is implemented and complied with.
- The provision of Switchboard and Reception services.
- Records Management with the responsibility of including the development and implementation of the Records Management Policy in compliance with the provisions of the National Archives Act.
