The Corporate Services Committee has three (3) non-executive members and provides the MGB with the assurance regarding the quality and reliability of the financial information used by the Board. The Committee must satisfy the MGB that adequate and appropriate financial and operating controls are in place, that significant business, financial and other risks have been identified and are being managed, and that appropriate standards of governance, reporting and compliance are in operation.
Other responsibilities of the Corporate Services Committee include:

Considering the proposals received relating to the annual budget and submitting any differences of opinion, to the Board for resolution. Further to the Board’s approval of the final budget the Corporate Services Committee monitors the expenses and liaises with provincial government relating to the MGB budgetary issues.

Fulfilling the function of the Remuneration Committee that meets at least once a year and is charged with the responsibility of assessing the remuneration strategy for the MGB, which includes the determination of incentive pay structures, in both the short and long term, in accordance with trends in local and international markets. The objective of this committee is to provide the Responsible Member and the Board with the assurance that management and employees are fairly rewarded for their individual contributions to the MGB’s performance.

Making recommendations to the Board in respect of the remuneration of consultants appointed in terms of section 18 of the Act and persons co-opted in terms of section 19 of the Act.

The revising and approving of the MGB’s Internal Control Policies and Procedures.
